Our story is an example of humble beginnings and determination. In the bustling city of Bengaluru, like any other commuter, we traveled a daily distance of 40km. However, the impact of the daily commute added stress to our mundane activities, making the commute less enjoyable. As a result, we began exploring ways to make a change not only for ourselves but also for the environment and people around us.
Vivek Sharanappa, the CEO, was an IT engineer with two decades of experience who was more than confident to take the plunge to solve the short-mile challenge. His experience working for companies like Novell and Hewlett Packard, combined with his passion for problem-solving, were his strengths to take this up.
Joining him was Varsha Vasudeva, a seasoned software professional with over 20 years of experience leading international teams at Oracle. Varsha’s impressive background also includes an MBA from IIT Bombay. With her expertise and enthusiasm, she was more than eager to embrace the challenging role of COO.
We started with our minimum viable product, our rental electric two-wheeler vehicles, which we assembled completely on our own. The positive response we received from our subscribers encouraged us to not just provide a stopgap solution but a carefully crafted and engineered electric two-wheeler. Thus, Indibike was born, something truly innovative and impactful.
After two years of hard work and dedication, we finally achieved our dream of creating the Indibike – a Made in India electric scoot bike. This was not just another product but a symbol of hope and progress for us. We knew that this new generation of scoot bikes had the potential to solve many problems and fundamentally change the way we commute in urban cities.
We hope that the Indibike inspires everyone to confidently switch to EVs and move towards sustainable transportation. We invite everyone to join us on this journey towards a sustainable future, one ride at a time.
